The Agilent 6460A Triple Quadrupole LCMS combines the separation power of High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) with the detection power of a triple quad instrument and provides the highest levels of sensitivity and selectivity for targeted analysis of small molecules in complex samples such as tissue homogenates, blood, or lysates from cell cultures. The electrospray ionization (ESI) source is equipped with Agilent Jet Stream technology that uses super-heated nitrogen to improve ion generation and desolvation, which leads to greater signal and reduced noise. This instrument is well suited for small polar molecules and metabolites as well as targeted proteomics applications of samples digested with proteases such as trypsin.
