The Sebra 1020 Blood Shaker/ Weight Monitor is a portable instrument used for the collection of blood. The Shaker provides the following important functions in accordance with the AABB Technical Manual:
- Mix the blood and anticoagulant gently and periodically (approximately every 30 seconds) during collection.
- The Shaker satisfies this task by continuously mixing the blood with anticoagulant.
- When the desired collection weight is obtained, it aids the phlebotomist by automatically clampling the blood bag tubing to stop blood flow and signaling completion, both audibly and visibly.
