The Waters Automated Valve Station (WAVS) is comprised of two 6-port high pressure switching valves and three 3-way solvent select valves packaged into a single, compact unit. The unit also contains a +12 V power supply to actuate the valves and an external ac outlet for controlling another system module (such as an auxiliary pump).
The WAVS can improve reliability in applications requiring repetitive use of manual methods. lt also automates a number of procedures, including online sample cleanup, trace enrichment, method switching, column backflushing and sequential separations. The two high pressure switching valves can also function as manual injectors when fitted with the proper loops.
